gProducing materials to revolutionize the mechanical,
electrical and electronic industriesh
Progress in civilization has gone hand-in-hand with the development
of new materials. In this day and age, it is these new materials
that pave the way for new industries. However, it is just as important
for engineers to consider the environmental impact of the manufacturing
and disposal of these new materials. Our objective is to train
engineers who are not only capable of developing new materials
but who are also environmentally responsible.
gA curriculum to meet the demands of industryh
Our curriculum encompasses three specialty fields and two relating
sub-fields. The three specialty fields are gDesign and Manufacturing
of Mechanical and Structural Materialsh; gFunction and Creation
of Optical and Electronic Materialsh with sub-field studies in
gMaterial Processingh; and gComposition and Application of Bio-and
Nano-Materialshwith sub-field studies in gNew Energy Materials.h
This curriculum not only covers basic areas of study, it also
includes a general overview of energy and environmental protection.
Upon graduation, students will be able to immediately address
the most crucial demands facing society.
